Walking floor trailers to europe:
Strategic expansion of specialised loose waste services.
April 2011
|
|
C&H (Hauliers) Ltd, a Charles Gee Group Company, has announced the launch of additional loose waste Walking Floor trailer services to Europe. Long established as carriers of forest products, C&H (Hauliers) has expanded its Walking Floor trailer operations by adding an additional 10 Le Gras 13.6m Walking Floor trailers coupled with DAF XF 105 FTG 460s. These additions serve to complement the already well established service.
Steve Mercer, Managing Director, comments “This strategic position adopted by ourselves has been created to enable us to continue to grow this specialised service. We are now in a position to continue to serve our, already established, forest products customer base as well as being able to address the new business enquiries that we were previously unable to satisfy with our fleet profile.”
Mr Mercer continued to explain that the additional vehicles are specified for European operations with a four metre running height and maximum cubic capacity. The floors are strengthened to enable access into the trailer for MHE dock loading and deliveries plus the ability to “walk” loads in and out. This specification, overall, makes the equipment extremely versatile, with most types of cargo carried from loose paper to reels of paper ‘on end’ loaded with clamp trucks.
Tilbury based C&H (Hauliers) Ltd., operates 95 tractor units and 270 trailers from five operating centres with the South East. Last year saw 1.9 million tonnes of forest products moved by C&H (Hauliers) Ltd., with an expected volume growth of 10% for 2011 whilst developing its services to new and existing customers.

Announcement:
The New Charles Gee Group!
October 2009
|
The Charles Gee Group of Companies is very pleased to announce that, owing to continued growth, expansion and development across different sectors of our business, a new Group structure is being created to better reflect the Group's portfolio of business and to give a clearer understanding of the services offered throughout the Group. This will bring greater efficiencies, accountability and transparency for directors, staff, shareholders, suppliers and customers alike.
Under our new structure, Charles Gee Group Ltd. will eventually own, control and manage all areas of Group business. All group companies will operate as subsidiaries of the new company with overall ownership remaining with the present owners and shareholders. The Group will not only remain just as strong and as financially secure as before, but will benefit from the far greater transparency of the new corporate arrangements, giving us a more appropriate structure to build on Charles Gee & Company's solid trading, sound investments and good business practice of the last 122 years.
